I got distracted somewhere near the beginning of s4 and haven't gotten back around to it, but it's pretty damn great! TNG is my beloved childhood Trek, never got into DS9 when it aired, but I 100% see now why everyone else did lol

Oh my god it gets so much better

The first three seasons are very good, but the latter 4 are absolutely incredible

I still rank it *as* good as TNG, but that's almost entirely because of Patrick Stewart.

oh sure, very valid! well, highly recommend! it's not SUPER serialized but still a lot more serialized than other Trek of the era, and there's a lot of fantastic, complicated storytelling in there. I love Sisko so much.
