about to ride from downtown to uoft to go swimming in a few minutes and anticipate freezing my face off, but that's pretty much the extent of the story, lol
So long as the way is clear I’m on my bike — and I’m no rugged adventurer! I curtail recreational cycling when it’s cold but it’s how I get groceries run errands all year long
I am a 72 year old woman in pretty good health . If I can do it , almost anyone can . Today is the first day this winter I haven’t ridden my bike ! It’s not that hard if you dress for it . In fact it is often surprisingly beautiful .
I was just posting pix earlier today of my cycling in NYC — a few degrees warmer than Toronto (my hometown, used to winter cycle there in the 80s and 90s) but still pretty chill
agreed — it’s really *gorgeous* and I love getting the cold air!
Just seeing this post; if you don't know each other already...Richie, meet @torontomike.com, Mike meet Richie. Besides being the most prolific podcaster I know, not many others bike more around this city than Mr. Michael Boon (Even in winter!)
I ride to work downtown, the days that I’m in the office … cold isn’t a problem, but I’ll take the train if it’s too sloppy. Maybe miss 4-5 days a year.
