Trump is too much of a coward to say a bad thing to Putin, yet he dares lecture Zelensky? Russia is on the verge of collapse and Trump/Vance are desperate to save them

Mark Carney stands with Ukraine

The most patriotic thing you could do right now is to ride your bike for errands and groceries as often as you can. 🇨🇦

Good news from Canada this morning: This member of the Ontario's legislature made hatred of Toronto bike lanes central to her political identity. She just lost reelection. www.facebook.com/story.php?st...

12 km of new bikeways passed today at the Infrastructure and Environment Committee 🚲 1/

Congratulations to our very own Board Member, Mark, for being named Hamilton's Bicycle Mayor! Mark is dedicated to fostering inclusivity, strengthening mutual support, and celebrating diversity as a vital asset.

Today is the day, Ontario … vote! Everything you need to know at www.elections.on.ca/en.html

As much as Doug Ford wants us to believe this election is about tariffs and the economy, it's clear he wanted this election well before Trump was elected. And he picked the dead of winter, hoping he could just coast into a third win. Get out and vote today to prove him wrong. #ONpoli

Anti-road safety & anti-cyclist MPP Christine Hogarth is on the ropes. Mobilize your friends, family, reach out to contacts in her riding. Encourage them to vote @voteleefairclough endorsed by @notoneseat Lee: www.leefairclough.ca voter info: voterinformationservice.elections.on.ca/en/electoral...

Thanks to everyone who came out tonight! Everyone vote! Let's work together to deny Doug Ford another majority government. jnyyz.wordpress.com/2025/02/21/c...

Good morning, Ontario! We have five days left to #VoteFordOut and today is the last day advance polls are open (until 8 PM). Whether it's by advance polls, by special ballot (until Wednesday), or at your local polling station on Thursday, MAKE YOUR PLAN TO VOTE! #ONpoli #ONDP #OLP #GPO

The City of Toronto is considering building 12 km of new bike lanes across the city, creating important connections in North York and Scarborough. Send our elected officials a strong message that you support more bike lanes: www.cycleto.ca/ie19_1_2025 #topoli #bikeTO

I could sure get used to the height of this new bike lane protection on Cannon St! #HamOnt @cyclehamilton.bsky.social

The only part of the Bloor bike lane eastbound that was somewhat passable was between Bathurst and Spadina, but even so there were some interruptions like this bus platform. It still took me almost twice as long to get into work this morning, and I am starting to get discouraged.

Whatever else emerges in time about the Delta crash in Canada, one thing is certain: the importance & amazing professionalism of flight attendants who safely evacuated the plane in a matter of seconds.

Thanks Richie Assaly of the Toronto Star for this great article about the joys of cycling in winter ! My favourite quote… “ The best way to start winter cycling is to just never stop autumn cycling “. That’s how I did it , and it’s been an amazing adventure!

Please enjoy my cartoon in today's Toronto Star

Doug Ford has spent more time interfering in Toronto than doing his job- being Premier. It’s time for Toronto to fight back- and have the power, autonomy & accountability to thrive. Sign our petition to begin this work now. www.joshmatlow.ca/charter_city

I have noted before that Ontario's Doug Ford is trying to kill us with more alcohol, faster cars, and fewer hospitals, and now a new study shows that people who cycle to work have far fewer sick days off and are more productive. So, of course, he wants to rip out the bike lanes.

Last provincial election, only ~44% of registered Ontarians voted. If you want to see change, VOTE for it! #onpoli #Ontario #neverford #NDP

Everything anyone purports to be angry at Justin Trudeau about: affordability, the housing crisis, hospital and surgical wait times, etc. etc. etc. are MORE attributable to Doug Ford after 6+years of his time as Premier than they ever were to Trudeau. Don't let him escape the backlash on incumbents

i don't have a joke here, i just think it's rad as hell that this guy is making tiny tiny homes that are attached to bikes for people experiencing homelessness in toronto

Timothée Chalamet, welcome to The War on Cars.

New from me at TVO: Couldn't let the week end without talking about NYC's congestion charge and the lamentable political consensus in Ontario against something that works. amp.tvo.org/article/opinion-why-wont-ontario-talk-about-the-one-method-proven-to-reduce-congestion

Thanks @jnyyz.bsky.social for covering tonight's #CriticalMass ride and to the roughly 30 people who made it out. Probably won't have my blog post up until tomorrow morning. #BikeTO #TOpoli #VisionZero

The Transportation Tomorrow Survey from 2022 that Minister Sarkaria and Doug Ford were hiding has been released. It shows cycling commute mode share is up 300% in Old Toronto since 2001. Now sitting at 11.3% in Old Toronto wards (4, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14), 10x bigger than "1.2%"!

“The long-term health benefits didn’t stop there: commuter cycling was also linked to a 24% reduced risk of cardiovascular hospitalizations, a 51% lower risk of dying from cancer, and improved mental health, as measured by fewer prescriptions for anxiety and depression.” Via @momentummag.bsky.social
