What sedimentation rate from a major river system would you add, even a modest .5cms a year? Would you be digging down 50 metres of silt? Too many variables to get sense from it

It depends entirely on where your site is. There are sites in floodplains that can be many meters buried, but that’s not typical. Other sites are on the surface because they’re in erosional settings. It would depend a lot on the environment over the next 10,000 years for New York.
