But, just as Emma cares about her son, so does Tracy care about hers.
I think in this case, it’s up to Tracy & Brad to learn to look at what they’re doing, realistically, & learn to set good limits.
It’s not Emma’s concern.

Agreed in the main. I saw an opportunity to nudge Emma, who seems determined not to notice anyone's interests but George's, a stance that has blinkered her to certain realities for years, I think.

I’m concerned abt his failing his exams. There’sm no future in George’s business and even if there were, Brad seems very smitten with math, and i can easily see him getting an advanced degree and maybe teaching.

If he fails, he will be able to resit. If he's still failing, he may have to do his first year again. There are plenty of stages to go through before he could be thrown out. It could affect his final grade though, so hopefully it won't come to that. #TheArchers

I should add even that wouldn't be a disaster. Son had to redo his 2nd year in electronic engineering & ended up with a 2(ii). Despite this, he went on to get a masters in economics with distinction 🙂. #TheArchers

Your system seems nicer in that there would be an opportunity to resit and not have to repeat (and pay to do so) the entire semester’s work of any exam he failed. So i am a bit comforted. Would still like him not to be running George’s business. Congratulations to your son!

Yes, me too. Taking over and running a whole business, in a type of work you're unfamiliar with and never had any wish to learn..... that's a huge amount of time and energy taken away from his degree, and everything else in his life.

I think a lot of us did. It was a lovely reminder that two kids who are smart and who like learning can find each other and thrive. Also liked it that no parental fuss about sleeping together at each other’s place. Her energy was so good. Together they were a hopeful sign.
