The Democratic Party policies are mostly fine. It’s their messaging and the scared or partisan media that’s the problem. People weren’t or aren’t hearing about their policies and their successes. Both Biden and Harris are not good at speaking loudly, clearly, and simply to get their message out.
It had nothing to do with messaging and there was plenty to learn about the proposals. Voters also have to do their jobs and seek out info to make an informed decision. They didn’t do that until the election was over, when they finally read about the dangers of tariffs.
If the average person feels worse off, they will vote out the incumbent, no matter what they did
and will even vote in someone who will make you worse off ...
I mean, they passed the most progressive policies of ANY administration barring The New Deal and the electorate hated them for it. They cut child poverty in half and people were mad at them for doing it. Voters are just fucking idiots and Monday Morning QB'ing is meaningless when the GOP exists.
Chazwazza, I come with actual evidence, and you are incorrect.
For example, President Biden fought for overtime pay, protected millions of pensions, and stood in solidarity with workers as they went on strike. Not FDR, but nowhere near as conservative as Clinton. Please Google.
I did however find that Joe Biden himself labelled himself Centre Left in 2019. Historically, he appears more conservative with criminal Justice and foreign policy. The older you go, the more conservative. He supported the Hyde amendment until 2019 and even older DOMA in 1996
Well I just did…the answer (as you hinted at) is complicated. All you said is true, but he also held a lot of conservative beliefs. I was gonna go through an article and post it as a respons…but the answers are all over the place depending on whose writing.
I'm glad you looked into it. Passing legislation to save the economy after Covid is also not conservative. As a result of that Keynesianism, our economy is the envy of the world, fastest recovery from Covid recession among major countries.
The message to democrats is they must learn that most people are imbociles and they need to appeal to them like - say “bullshit” in your speeches a lot - that makes you like one of them!!
Cause you just get in - then do what you like - and cause they drank the cool aid they support you no matter what - and accept you blaming others for any woes.
Copying off the republicans worst traits to win is not a great idea. If the democrats lie through their teeth to get in they’re no better than the guys who are doing that exact thing and it’s bad
The republicans worce traits are climate denile, contempt for democracy, hatred of the poor, a desire for performative cruelty on any minority group, and being generally cartoon level villains.
Using volger language is. Not. Their. Worced. Trate.
With respect: that’s exactly what I’m saying. If you’re going to copy off their shitty traits to win, what does that make you? We’ve just had a moderated party win in the U.K. and over half the country hates them months in. I’m trying to offer the suggestion not to repeat our mistakes.
There’s a wider conversation about whether if you do whatever it takes to win including becoming what the bad guys are, if it’s worth it. See the U.K. Labour Party taking on Cameronian politics to win and the resulting tidal wave of anger and dissatisfaction.
A simplistic explanation of a country racked by crime, greed and red tape carefully crafted by Big Business in the biggest Big Business cabal in the world. Nothing about it is legal politics other than apathy.
Both parties have to be rebuilt at same time. A New Left, and New Right that are actually focused on the people, fun-friendly collaborating-competition, talking, and actually focused on getting things done. Both sides of the actually sane people can get a lot done each with their own strengths.
