The amount of people I had to sit down and TEACH how to use the tagging system is phenomenal due to tech illiteracy and a profound lack of willingness to learn. It's a deeply SCARY trend, there are adults coming into the world who do not know basic computer and web browsing skills.

Fanfiction etiquette is incredibly simple, actually. Don't like it, don't read it. No one is forcing you to, which is why it looks ridiculous to complain about it, especially if you were content warned. AO3 tags + "exclude" is one of the greatest reading tools ever. Use them properly and voila!
