I just finished New Gods (2024) #1 and @therightram.bsky.social you brought to the table everything I was hoping for. I haven't been this excited for a comic in a long, long time. You captured the essence of Kirby's cosmic scifi-fantasy & wove in the deep tragic weight that pulls these characters.

I think we need to re-launch Reading Rainbow but specifically for teens and young adults because there is a rise in anti-literacy among younger folk, and it is petrifying. Not only do they pride themselves on not reading - but they encourage others to be the same.

The amount of people I had to sit down and TEACH how to use the tagging system is phenomenal due to tech illiteracy and a profound lack of willingness to learn. It's a deeply SCARY trend, there are adults coming into the world who do not know basic computer and web browsing skills.

It's funny how comic books are always pressing towards modernity with characters made for a specific time. The Penguin was based on a cigarette mascot from the 40s, and now his childhood happened in the 80s. Batman's grown up playing Pokemon by now.
