It's funny how comic books are always pressing towards modernity with characters made for a specific time. The Penguin was based on a cigarette mascot from the 40s, and now his childhood happened in the 80s. Batman's grown up playing Pokemon by now.

few Comic characters have established years of birth excepting for those that have historical events tied to their character … Captain America was an Adult during WWII, Magneto experienced the Holocaust directly, Agatha Harkness was at the Salem Witch trials, Century Babies are born at the start …
Wonder Woman has WWII stories but in continuities where she is younger than WWII they have a time travel element or have a *different* Amazonian be “Wonder Woman” during WWII.
Which is interesting because there are some things they never change, like Magneto being a child in WW2, Cap being frozen in ice during WW2, etc. When he first "re"appeared cap had only been frozen 20 years (1944 - 1964). Now it's like FIFTY years at least. Wild.
Haha that's so funny we both thought the same thing. Great minds think alike!
Iron man was initially captured by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. Now it's just... some war with some people they don't specify to keep it more timeless.
I remember there was this tiktok that theorized that given the timeframe, the movie Bruce and his parents saw before they died could've been the live action Scooby Doo
I find it pretty funny and charming, I love how the Tim Burton batmen have kind of like a 40s gangster vibe yet are also definitely set in the 80s (and early 90s I guess)

So “today” the events of Uncanny X-Men #1 took place ~2009 and Bobby Drake was born ~1995 and he is ~29.

Yeah. Cap is in ice longer …
Magneto has *seceral* events where he is made younger.

It’s a sad commentary that there is always some military conflict to anchor a character with military trauma to.
like a big fukken weeb.
