Definitely, most people see the term stoicism meaning someone is is immune to emotions and feelings, whereas it's quite the opposite. It's a real problem for the field in my eyes.

Stoicism teaches us to avoid judging others, as it distracts from what we can control—our own actions and character. Marcus Aurelius says, “You always own the option of having no opinion.” Focus on understanding human nature and self-improvement, not criticism. Judgment clouds peace.

It also teaches us to fulfill our oikeiotic roles appropriately. One of my roles is to communicate and teach Stoicism, and part of teaching is ensuring students know what is and isn't X (here, Stoicism). Judgment isn't unStoic, unjust judgement is.

Is it crazy to say Unjust judgment in Stoicism is forming opinions driven by bias or emotion, not reason. It’s judging others’ actions (beyond our control), ignoring human flaws, or letting anger cloud fairness. Instead, Stoics urge empathy, rationality, -focusing on self-improvement over criticism?

No rush at all- or no need to respond -I was just reflecting on the day and realized how my response could be taken and felt the need to explain.

On a mini fam trip my self - I am just daily journaling on Bluesky before every one is awake.
