I couldn't agree more. It sticks out like a sore thumb when somebody's tried to use 'clever' words instead of just being natural. Of course it's good to expand your vocabulary, but there's a time and place for that.

Weirdly in parallel world when I would ask a patient to describe the pain I often said please give me the real one that first came to mind as it's a better clue than giving me the word you think I want to hear .
