Chauvin was convicted by the State of Minnesota. Trump could do away with whatever federal charges he got but he couldn't do anything about the state charges.

Yeah, see above. They had Federal Civil Rights violation charges IIRC as well. The good news is, yes, he can't do anything about state level charges including his own felony convictions.
