This is another machine I really must go back and revisit - the fact I still haven't got round to taking a better photo of it is telling. I really liked these back in the day and always wanted one. I do feel a little cheated however to find that an 'MTX*512*' has only 64K of memory ... :)

Loved my MTX512. Had the HiSoft Pascal ROM expansion board, and added the NewWord ROM. Also had the FDX, but only single drive. A bullet proof piece of kit that was retired in 1986 when I got my Atari 1040STF. Still keep an eye on Ebay for them...

But it can be expanded to 512K, unlike the MTX500, which can only go up to 500K.... Sort of... Unless you change the jumpers, PAL and the memory chips to 4164s... but then it's an MTX512.

Give it a wipe down and then put some furniture polish on for a nice shine.
