This actually seems like a very positive thing coming out of a red state for a change. Following scientific evidence and pouring resources into a problem can actually make a difference. Better readers make critical thinkers and fewer maga supporters!
They did it with a Democrat for Governor of Louisiana that actually cares about public education. Unfortunately the people of Louisiana put a QOP in the Governor’s mansion.
That is a stat that Trump celebrates. He said in his own words during the presidential campaign..."I love the uneducated". Shuttering the Dept of Education appears to have Trump's grip on power in their mission statement. Defanging the public to stay in power through illiteracy. MAGA!!!
I swear this sounds like how we were taught to read in the mid-late '70s. Phonics works. Writing may be an imperfect code, but give kids the key and they can work it out.
