I read cookbooks like any nonfiction, love personal stories of cultures, traditions, folklore. I get peeved at folks complaining online "Where's the goto recipe button so I can skip everything else"? WTF man, it's not only about the result, it's also about the careful consideration and the process.
Agreed! Recipes are great, but reading what led to their creation soothes my soul.
