Commuted sentence means he get to walk free but he is still a convicted felon and convicted of seditious conspiracy so he can’t legally buy a gun where those laws exist.
The pardon does absolutely restore all civil rights. The conviction still shows on your record. Followed by the record of the pardon. They’ll have to file for it to be expunged. Not a chance of that happening in a DC court.
