Interessant. Wir sind ja öfters uneins, aber hier hätte ich das nicht erwartet. Ich finde die TGV in fast jeder Hinsicht angenehmer. Personal, Verhalten der Passagiere, Gepäckaufbewahrung, Vibe, Vibrationen, Farben, Licht, …

Seeing DE and FR beside one another makes me think: How come I never see French international trains in Berlin? I see Dutch logos and DB logos, but never Belgian or French.

SNCF owns no trains that can use all German high speed lines. This de facto means TGVs only to Frankfurt, Stuttgart and München. And a TGV is a good bit slower Stuttgart-München than a ICE as it lacks the signalling system for the new line through Wendlingen.

Also be aware I’m in Germany for the next fortnight. Not that many train trips, but it might result in me being oddly positive about railways (which few in Germany are currently due to DB’s woes - that probably aren’t as bad as the Germans say)

Yeah, but toddler area (no separate compartment!) is crap, the bar isn't worth the name either, and some other issues. Fortunately, DB has learned some lessons for 408 and 412.

I think I booked the first one from Berlin to Paris without knowing and was wildly confused why a lot of people took pictures and walked through the train with selfie sticks 😅. I'm writing from Eurostar Paris->Cologne right now, aren't FR/DE trains great (and by FR I mean Paris of course 😬).
