The movies were 4-5 hours long. You'd walk away with an education that helped you survive, what to ask, what to avoid etc. Now everything focuses on trauma.

Yesssss!!! Baby old lifetime used to have me and my whole family SAT! Watching good ass movies back to back to back. Even the repeat of the movies were good, you could rewatch and it be just as good as the first time. Now……it’s straight trash. Same plot, terrible acting. Low budget, no value.

if i remember, the burning bed (the original with farrah fawcett) was on nbc, i think. i'm not sure there was a lifetime channel then...that one made people recognize farrah's acting. it was chilling. so many movies from that time. we still talk about them. i used to have some of 'em on vhs.

Ahh, you may be right. There was also another movie with Judith Light (from Who’s the Boss) where she was physically abusing her husband and no one believed him. I worked with a few male DV victims that were in heterosexual relationships and it was hard on so many levels.
