... Oddly since resigning, his popularity (and that of the Liberals generally) has really jumped. I think it's a combination of Canadians being galvanized by Trump's threats (and the Conservatives seeming pretty tied to Trump style policies), and Trudeau feeling free to be more forceful.

I think the party with the most votes wins and democracy works best when everyone votes their values.

Sadly I think even the NDP, Greens, etc. are content as permanent 3rd parties. I can't fault folks for voting strategically if that's best in their riding, but it sucks that we settle for it.

I live in one of those "Safe Liberal ridings." Went red last election, it'll go red next election, it'll go red ten elections from now. It's a great feeling to know I can vote however I want and it won't give way to a Tory landslide, but we shouldn't feel the least bit bad about our vote in any case

Truthfully JT is still very popular in Canada as he should be, but politics will be politics. He is a good man.
We have our own Maple Maga here and my fear is that they will get in now that Mr Trudeau was pushed out. The one good thing Trump has done is unite this country again.
