Though I would equally note that such armor might not emphasize elements of appearance we would expect. Standards of 'ideal' bodies have varied quite a lot, after all.

I could see such armors easily emphasize the shoulders or hips instead. Or instead have large tassels or fake hair on the helmet. Actually, didn't some Roman officers have helmets like that?
Just imagine armor but with eighties fashion sensibilities.
It is my understanding that one of the major issues with "boob plate" is that it is really likely to get you killed by way of channels blows into your sternum. Do you know if that's accurate?
So the 'straight into the sternum' bit really depends on the shaping of the armor on the inside - and remember, you're wearing this with at least a liner, if not a full multi-layer gambeson underneath.
That said, armor tends to be shaped to let blows glance off (but isn't always so shaped).
But before anyone declares the shape an absurd or self-destructive one, it seems reasonable to note just how...ahem...shaped some Greek muscle cuirasses are!
I think the most entertaining part of that is the muscle cuirass equivalent of the "bat-nipples" on the 90s Batsuit. Although, a quick search also suggests that might have a more direct connection of them being inspired by these armors.
This is actually a good point. It's not quiiite as round as some boobplate out there, and the crease isn't so sharp, but that definitely doesn't go away from the sternum.
