That said - I'm not watching cable news (and Fox is going to show the same one burning car on repeat all day no matter what happens) - but looking at the front page images for the WSJ, NYT and WaPo, I think so far the protestors are mostly not giving Trump what he wants and that's good.

If (b), you win.
So you can't give them that choice: supply them only with the images you want them to show, *only* state violence.
That's how you win.
a) an attempt to stop their families and neighbours from being dragged away by racists
b) failing that, to express anger at this and the generations of racist leadup.
They are not angry because they love America, or because they think "America is better than this".
Damn guys, you're so screwed.
"Here's your LAPD when they think no one's looking"
Though you may have seen it by now.
If this is the tack things take, you're on pretty safe ground.

Here, towards media, and also by putting pressure on elected Democrats not to run with Shiff's shitty ...
Pointing out protests that are springing up elsewhere in solidarity - in Boston, Chicago, San Fransico etc. is certainly also a good thing!
The question isn't just political anymore, it's strategic. What will they do in the next city, and how do we respond?

Like, I can't stress enough: the country is not 50% MAGA base and 50% progressive - there are a lot of 'persuadables' and you need them angry at Trump.
8% Progressives
11% Liberals
15% 'Passive' (disengaged) liberals
26% politically disengaged
15% moderates
19% Traditionalist conservatives
6% MAGA
I think the unreachable group is probably quite a bit smaller than 25%.
