That’s part of it. Alongside that, in 2024, the US bought roughly $72B of stuff from us and we bought $22B of stuff from them. We’re watching a greedy maniac find ways to starve us of that $50B from our own economy, no matter what good or evil use that money is put to once we have it from them.
Maybe better to ask why the post-war belief that we’re all still waiting on money being, “sent home from America” to have enough to survive on is still so dominant in the social consciousness?
True, but you can see why—as villains—our interest in any prospective prey is fairly intense. And we bite US in the neck. Never said it was laudable, just answering your question of why we’d care in the first place.
