It was tiny, but it didn't lack in entrancing terror. The Butcher of the Forest by @premeemohamed.com is an astoundingly dark folk horror-fantasy novella, rooted in true folk tradition. The terror didn't only lie in the forest, either. An oversized impact for a wee book. 🩸📚 🪐📚💙

Echoing my last repost, The Book of Accidents sees a consistently stellar writer doing possibly his best work. This work is closer in comparison to Joe Hill than Stephen King—more mythic than gothic, it put me in mind of Hill’s NOS4A2 or Lauren Beukes The Shining Girls. Just superb.

In my review way back in 2021, I said THE BOOK OF ACCIDENTS reads like Stephen King and Blake Crouch's lovechild, with splashes of vintage Koontz and some serious Robert McCammon vibes. So, yeah, go buy this! It's fucking great!
