It was weird hearing you guys say the Budokai games are the direction fighting games could have taken, because they absolutely did. They're called Arena Fighters and most shonen anime games are this kind of game. All those Naruto games. Most Dragon Ball games. Also the the FF Dissidia games.

If I'm playing a FPS, I have to reload after every encounter, even if I only pop off 5-6 rounds in a 30 round mag.

I have to train myself NOT to do it whenever I play competitive shooters otherwise I'm often killed mid-reload because I felt a 5 round burst was worth reloading a 30 round mag over.

I become a professional landscaper whenever I'm playing games. By the time I leave an area the grass will be 2 inches tall just in case I can find an extra coin, rupee, or crafting ingredient.

If I'm playing an RPG, I'll have 2 - 3 different save files. I always save over the oldest file, so if I ever lose progress, I won't have to backtrack too much.

This is definitely a response to having lost progress in games before, so I save probably too often.

In Monster Hunter I will bail on a hunt if I realize I forgot to pet my poogie before leaving. I don't think it has any real mechanical benefit in game, but I choose to believe it gives good luck and better cuts.
