I'm shocked we've not gotten home versions of 90s arcade redemption machines. Like a VR version of Namco's Cosmo Gang or that gator slapping one. Give me my coin pusher!
Since I didn't see anyone else say it on here, I'll go with the original Steel Battalion game. I would love to be able to play the immersive mech sim even without that massive controller it came with.
If I have to choose any obscure and hard to play game I want just playable. Gonna be Odama on gamecube. Feudal wars mixed with pinball and a microphone. Just seems like it'd be easy to port, just it's like noone wants to yell commands playing pinball. Weird, right?
To change the Looney Tunes awareness tides there IS a NEW movie coming MARCH 14! https://youtu.be/zMTVP4SIyX4?si=xTxhsQkAfD9hfXKx with work by @awd.bsky.social
QOTW: Star Wars Trilogy Arcade! Not *that* one, but the one where you’d light saber duel Darth Vader with a joystick. With recent re-releases could it be next?
They're kinda considered GoG's white whale in terms of classing PC games they don't have yet. But they basically can't figure out who actually owns the series so they haven't been able to get the rights to rerelease it.
Final Fantasy XI. I played it on PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360. I'm not a PC player so when they stopped supporting consoles that was the end of that. I know a lot has changed with the game since I've played it (I hear you can pretty much play it solo now) so it'd be cool to revisit it.
So I THOUGHT I had the perfect answer to this thread with the 2005 open-world shooter Boiling Point: Road to Hell. This game was a PC exclusive that came out just before digital distribution really blew up so it became pretty difficult to find after a few years. It's a really fascinating game!
It's a sort of proto Far Cry 3, a sprawling open world FPS/ RPG that takes place on a tropical island, but it has a more extensive and robust skill system more akin to something like the original Deus Ex with tons of different skill categories and weapons
The plot can play out many different ways, there's a bunch of factions you can have different types of relationships with, the world is huge, and there are all sorts of vehicles and weapons. Also, the main character is voiced by Arnold Vosloo who played the mummy in those movies from the 90s/00s
However, the reason I say I THOUGHT I had the perfect answer is that I learned just now that they actually quietly re-released the game in late 2023, on gog and steam. Gog even has an interview with the developer about re-releasing the game 18 years later!
QotM: Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon from the N64 (though the whole series applies). I assumed it was emulating the N64 memory card which kept it off virtual consoles over the years. Hopefully Konami can dod a comprehensive collection of the series and translate the unreleased entries too.
I would love to see Brave Fencer Musashi made playable on modern consoles. It came out on the ps1 with a Japan only ps2 sequel I think. while I *can* play my ps1 disk on a ps3, it’s a square game so I think it could just be remastered and multiplat.
I would love to play the 1998 version of Battlezone on the PC again. What other game at the time had RTS, an amazing first person battle system, and an online modding community? There were probably many games like that, but I was too sheltered at the time to know or care.
@trickthetm.bsky.social has The One True Answer, but I'd also like to see Iron Helix available somewhere. It's a sci-fi adventure game I played a few times at a friend's house as a kid. Is it actually any good? I have no idea, but there's a GoG page for it without a price so maybe we'll see it soon.

BTW, I’m just kidding here, TL. You’re pretty awesome. https://youtube.com/shorts/5yXYBEVkXaE?si=m80-RpbV2b4kWQgh
