denji jumping to a conclusion that is /objectively incorrect based on events that we have seen directly/ isn’t meant to be a reveal of the actual truth or introduce ambiguity into yoshida’s involvement. the protagonist of a story can be wrong! I don’t know if these kids understand that.

I would say there’s material in csm very much intended to incite a specific reaction in the fandom, though (most of the time such that the expectations it creates can be subverted). he’s not working entirely blind of his audience.

“You” could refer to Yoshida directly but it could also mean Public Safety as a whole or even Public Safety AND the CSM Church

I think it's understandable why Denji came to that conclusion, and the fact Yoshida didn't deny it makes it seem to me that to some extent he possibly does blame himself for her death. It's funny to me that I've gone for not really caring for Ysd to him being one of my favourite characters
