Even moreso than the '80s, the lionization of all the worst aspects of '70s art and culture is something America is STILL dealing with today. Abusive cokeheads being hailed as artistic geniuses for stealing effectively and marketing themselves as rebels did a ton of long-term cultural damage.

The Morrison run on X-Men creating divisions in the fanbase that exist to this day is such a fascinating topic to me and I wish I had a better head for statistics to examine the correlations involved.
