I already got over Led Zepplein, the idea that a thief is a "brilliant creator" is so very passe...

Sorry, aren't these the very thick-skinned geniuses that encourage people to express themselves, no matter who gets offended?

Your art is like a scrolling roadblock, and I appreciate it so much.

3rd Duelist picks Torch instead of Strategist or Vanguard, gets fewer kills than Strategists and Vanguards, blames Strategists and Vanguards for not "playing their roles."
It's...just brilliant.

To me, their runs are often brilliant because they just assume the publisher will have a competent hand-off or follow-up.
Which is NOT true.
Look at how Xorn was utterly bungled: they (publisher) realized the character was popular/toyetic, and demolished the previous story to make a quick buck.

Even as a writer, you'll get criticized for not being "creative" enough, or being "too derivative" because of course, whoever is doing the criticizing knows the origin of ALL art, and doesn't just default to: the 1970s, when all art sprung forth fully formed from the minds glorious American whites.

I was the same way for a LONG time. Sadly: no clue what changed or shifted in me, apart from "gaining more freetime," which isn't...you know: viable as a solution.

That's STILL ongoing, I personally just think: the generation raised with internet porn doesn't need to pay $10 to sit in a public place for 5 seconds of visible breasts.
Or did they REALLY convince themselves all those "classy R-rated movies" in the '80s & '90s were being watched "for the story"?

Reddit: an entire community made up of exclusively people who assume they're the smartest one in ANY room constantly trying to prove each other wrong.

"Also we never have to deal with artists telling us we're interpreting their art wrong because we're incapable of creating our own!"

Oh, it's so goddamned good.
I never knew Albert Brooks could do "terrifying sociopathy."

It was always a lie.
But still: a beautiful lie.

Had to interact with Amazon customer service.
No clue if it was AI or a real person rigidly following a script.
But them sending me a copypasta of TWO different return choices, completely unformatted just a wall of text, while only emailing me ONE option, certainly made the point moot.

I think most horror franchises would be improved by being anthologies.
But those do NOT make money, and any attempts at change were immediately rejected by the audiences AND critics of the times (who I hear were "smarter and had better taste than stupid kids nowadays").

Trying to impact the people closest to you is an excellent reprieve from the terrible things.
It's important to prioritize your own joy above "gazing too long into the abyss" as well, though.
I say that as someone VERY happy with the art they bought from you.

I'm a fan of comic book movies.
This is healthy and good.

Weird, right?
Entire generations lionized the "rugged individualist addict artist" and unfortunately: most of them forgot that last word.
