12 months of individual and group sessions. Participants get structured feedback and more prosocial responses are shaped. "Mentalization" is targeted to improve recognition of emotional cues and modify environmental triggers.
In the group component, participants collaboratively analyze recent conflicts and practice alternative responses. Clinicians reinforce self-awareness, emotional regulation, and perspective-taking. Individual sessions (once a month) address more personal challenges, and improve generalization.
Through differential reinforcement and stimulus control, the program shapes adaptive responses, aiming to reduce aggressive behavior during probation.
(My language, not theirs 😬)
The intensity is high but given how hard it is to reach this population, could be worth it.
