I disagree. This isn't chess this is Checkers and Schumer is doing the right thing. If the government shuts down we lose the courts which are the only thing holding Trump and musk back. Without the courts they get decide what is an essential service and it won't be Justice.

The courts won't do any good if the budget includes gutting Medicaid and other essential programs, approving a huge tax cut for the billionaires, and raising the deficit ceiling. Trump called it one big beautiful bill to include everything they wanted. By signing off, we have approved it all legally

Also, a no vote gives GOP grabs on CR. They may not let Dems suggest anything, but Trump can barge in & manipulate it so it's even worse! By voting "Yes" there will be a committee appointed to iron out wrinkles between Senate & House versions. Dems have input. It's our only hope to get Medicaid out.

We don't want courts to shut down, 280 lawsuits & counting. If we shut the government down, nothing proceeds & we need them to decide cases faster. He also thinks he will have an opportunity to tweak the Senate version of the bill. If "yes" a committee from Senate & House will iron out problems.
