Let's be honest. A majority of Vets do support him. We heard his comments about McCain, we heard about "suckers and losers", we heard him say he wants the generals Hitler had and we heard him say he could terminate the Constitution.
More honesty. If there is a segment of our population already somewhat primed to accept authoritarianism, it is the military. What is our culture if not one of almost blind obedience to the orders of those appointed above? Sort of built.
I am not dengidrating anyone, but rather trying to understand
why so many of us (still in uniform and those who have long hung it up) can overlook so many obvious red flags. Army Soldiers are taught to live by LDRSHIP: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage. It is the core value system that we strive to be.
We point to the Oath we take, yet so many still support someone so obviously antithetical to that Oath. Maybe those few words members say upon enlistment (often at 18 years or so of age) are just words. Maybe we fail to teach each other what they properly mean. I don't know, but it's heartbreaking.
I swore to uphold the Constitution against ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic. No Kings, No Masters! All American Veterans must come together for the betterment of the country.

Politicians may casually ignore their oath and play politics for dollars.
But Veterans in congress know without a doubt they’re choosing to betray their country and the American people for a foreign and domestic criminal coalition.
