The Oric, another 8-bit micro, was very popular in France.
I have an A600 again these days, picked up one last year, and it was such a happy reunion. It's away for some upgrading and recapping these last couple of weeks and I definitely miss it, aha.
Video game history is such an integral part of media history in general!
I too, love and grew up with both the Mega Drive/Genesis as well as 90s/2000s Anime — Sailor Moon was one of my very first! Without the Mega Drive, I never would have discovered gaming!
One of my quests through my 'zine too is to preserve the gaming memories of regular peeps and their experiences in their own words.
Also, undeniably, retro hardware repair/restoration is so much more engaging to watch because it carries with it a sense of simultaneous intrigue, intimacy, and precision, as their nigh-irreplaceable nature requires such a layered approach!
