This brought to mind a game I used to play that looked similar to this, specifically that wireframe part. Also DOS, late 80s early 90s (Shareware?) no idea what it was actually called but the .exe was Tunnels.
You're flying very fast through tunnels of various colors and widths, trying not to crash

I've played the other 2 games in this series (on PS2 and another on360). PS2 game was gun, 360 was a bit much for me and less shmup (more space sim shooter) but had an awesome main theme.

Silpheed on DOS (and its original PC-88 form) is a sweet little shooter with a pretty unique look and feel for the time, thanks to the tilted angle and the dithered polygonal enemies.

The background tuneage is so chirpy and upbeat.
