I think it's really interesting the number of lecturing posts about not turning away regretful Trump voters before there is any sign that any of them regret him. Rather than deal with conditions as they are, people are already wishcasting defeating fascism without having to fight

That’s kinda my concern too. I don’t see any regret yet. I’ve seen some reshares of a few posts but not a wave. I’ve given these folks the benefit of the doubt for almost 10 years, I’ve finally decided many of them just aren’t good people. It’s up to them to show me differently now. Win ME back.

But the ones I've seen are also like "there's been a mistake" or "this is what the government is doing, not Trump". On a polling level, there is no real sign of a turning away from him by his voters at the moment

Exactly, there's this fundamental disconnect in The Discourse where it's assumed that everyone votes based on policy and on reasonable assumptions of what effects those policies will have, and must therefore regret their vote if it leads to bad outcomes, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary

the one post like this i retweeted was a direct reaction to an article interviewing a regretful voter, so it wasn't a complete fabrication, but the idea that there will be enough of them to make a statistically significant difference is a fantasy
