It's okay to draw slow on your comics. Think about this if you made one page a week, in 5 years you have a 250+ page graphic novel that's ALL YOURS and never existed before

This!!! This is something I've been telling myself my comic is a passion project I want to complete just for myself and however long that takes is fine! Similarly 10 years isn't that long .... or 20
5 years sounds like a long time to people. But it's not really. And at the end you have something you can treasure. And you can make shorter comics! You can make them fast or loose or sketchy or with pixel art anything!
I've been trying to reframe my frustration at how slow going it can be with these ideas too! Also, that the comic I make is a gift I give myself -- a story that is 100% in tune with my aesthetics and interests.
When you consider webtoons and self-hosted comics that are hundreds of pages but few chapters, you realize and appreciate the effort. You can read it in an hour or two but it took months to make. It's humbling and appreciative to consider
i keep wanting to start a comic and then going noooooooo i could never keep up with it along with everything else but like... damn u right. i don't even have to actually show anyone until i'm ready tbh
