My kids and I found some that had fallen from the full ditch bank into the ditch and we pulled them out and let them dry a minute and put them back in burrow w gloves, they still have talons but they’re so damned cute.
These dear little owls represent all that is good and right in our world. We've got to FIGHT to protect them from the heartless Nazis that now run our country!!!
I spent many happy hours during COVID lockdown on Zooniverse identifying burrowing owls in photos for the University of San Diego. Love the grumpy little fellas!
When I worked as a letter carrier I had a spot on my route with a large ground squirrel population and these awesome owls. It was my favorite place to take a break. Those two creatures were endlessly entertaining.
