Hold my beer, in 2001 I moved from MN to SC. I brought a box of wood scraps with me. In 2024 I had a project and found the perfect piece of wood in that box.
Just used old fence boards for edging. Those tree limbs I cut three years ago on the side yard? Repurposed for raised bed fencing. Prior laziness can pay off in trying times!
I'm not a dude, or a dad, but today I went through my junky storage cabinets looking for just the right piece I was certain I had in various jars and coffee cans to repair a garden hose because I didn't want to go to the hardware store and I found it!!!
I saved a piece of purple heart lumber *for years*, waiting for just the right project to use it on. Then I got arthritis so bad in my hands, that I had to give up woodworking. That damn piece of lumber is *still* in the workshop…mocking me every time I see it 😂😂
A couple of weeks ago I found a 2' Level that I forgot we had. Got so excited about the find, I went around and made sure every shelf in the house was level. One wasn't, but it is now!

Is that you?
You are a hero,
A rock against decluttering
An Icon to wave in the face of
Political Tidiness (gone mad)
All you had was the belief that it would ‘come in handy ‘ to protect you.
Salute🖖

I got to use two loose screws from old, crappy mice the other day. Little bit of handfitting and they were perfect.
Had them in a pill bottle in my desk from when I disassembled them for the switches when they died. Vindication.
🤣
It's all been sitting there for years now but when WW3 happens my house is gonna be full of good loot 🤣
