For what it’s worth I think the Conservatives have correctly diagnosed the problem but have come up with the completely incorrect solution, one that is killing them.

That there is no route back to government for them without dealing with Reform.
But they are fighting on Reform’s territory rather than establishing some of their own from which to launch an attack.
