If you fudge the dice as GM, then you're not playing a game, instead you're dictating a story you want to tell.
In that case you may as well put the dice and character sheets away as they're just a distraction.

I don't disagree with your main point, but there's no cause to invalidate positions as 'dismissive' just because they're succinct
