DaVinci Resolve in its free tier is more than enough for editing.

Coming from Premiere, it does take a bit to get used to as it has a different workflow, but once you get the hang of it, it is actually easier than Premiere.
I suggest looking up quick DaVinci tutorials on YT, that's how I did it.

Yeah Adobe's auto captions are extremely easy and super customizable. But it's also really expensive. Unfortunately I've been out of the market for cracking software for years now. So I'm not much help there. This might be a temporary thing but have you looked into an adobe trial?

I personally cannot afford to dump $300 on an editing software for a good while. I have other things.

Davinci does not have a monthly subscription option.

No, it doesn’t. The free version is better than anything charging a monthly fee. And the paid version is $300 once. I paid that 10 years ago. All updates after have been free.

I can get a version of Vegas Pro Edit for $20 on the Humble at times, and while it won't have all the features of the current release, I doubt I'd need that many. Good luck hoping for Humble to get it up, though.

Resolve studio comes with either a serial number or a dongle. I got a dongle for it second hand from a guy in Australia for about half the price of a new copy. People sell them because lots of BM hardware comes with a Resolve Studio license. Worth trying to get one

That's understandable. From reading the thread, I don't see how you'd have a good time with Davinci since you've already used the free version and I don't see how the paid version will fix your problems... Then again with the presets and templates, piracy is an option.

You don't need the full version of DaVinci. In my personal experience the free version has everything you need unless you're doing more professional stuff. That being said I really just self taught myself how to use DaVinci with help of youtube videos. But I can't say it's easy or hard.

I don't know if you tried out Canva or ClipChamp. They don't really need a subscription but if you need one i think those are more reasonable at their prices (around 20-30 dollars instead of 300 dollaroos). I need to srr what the editing program is called that I usually use.

Sounds good! I just checked. ClipChamp's Premium version is just about 13 dollars/month or 130 dollars or so yearly. So either way it's more affordable than say Vegas Pro or similar products.

Try using whisper, you could extract the subtitles for an audio or video automatically , then copy the srt file in Davinci resolve and it's done . Do don't need the paid version
