Sometimes you make something just to prove that you can. Behold, a 3D printed physical model of double slit wave interactions! 😅 #iteachphysics 🎢

I knew that I‘ve seen it before. Do you have any reference or even the sources? I could not find any (easily)…

Is this hand-carved or 3D printed?

3D printed. I wouldn't even know where to start on carving something like this 😬

I am an amateur astronomer and I do a lot of outreach. This would be perfect! Will you be adding it to your website?

Love it!
For the diffraction + interference patterns are you actually calculating them for the given slit width and automatically generating the STL?

I essentially just sketched out a sine wave and performed a "revolve cut" around each axis to cut away from a block and the pattern appeared 😀

This will be my first print in the new year. Thanks so much for this. It will really help explain the whole idea of quantum mechanics.

Thank you for making this open source. Brilliant demo! As a Physics mom can't wait to 3D print this for my kids

That's my answer to a lot of my 3D printing: Why'd you print that? Because I can.

Oooh and those wave forms can rotate when attached to show the overlap??
