The ASciNA Rocky Mountains Chapter was founded in 2024 and we are looking for Austrians to join us. ASciNA (Austrian Scientists & Scholars in North America) is the first and only independent network of Austrian scientists and scholars in North America, including the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Check out this episode of Thinking on Paper about @xprize.bsky.social #QuantumApplications and more...got caught up in some rabbit holes and carried away in some instances. Hence would love some honest feedback. 😅 youtu.be/SJi7aP5B69A?...

@xprize.bsky.social Quantum Applications has reached 300+ teams from 45+ countries. Super excited to see what comes next. What a support from the quantum computing community.

"Over the holidays, we adopted a kitten from a feral litter. Each day, we're working to socialize her into our family. What I’m learning: trust is earned, not given. 🐾

Sometimes you make something just to prove that you can. Behold, a 3D printed physical model of double slit wave interactions! 😅 #iteachphysics 🎢

Seen the recent Unitary Fund survey results? @xprize.bsky.social #QuantumApplications competing Teams are pushing the top three priorities from this list! Exciting times unitaryfund.github.io/survey-2024/

Got lucky at #Q2B this year

Witnessing the brilliance of @xprize.bsky.social Teams tackling challenges like climate change & clean water access is truly inspiring. This #GivingTuesday, let’s support their journey to create a brighter, equitable future for all. 💙 Donate here: xprize.org/donate #XPRIZE30

This Wednesday, 11am MT, I’ll be speaking about the XPRIZE #QuantumApplications competition during a FABrIC ecosystem webinar by CMC Microsystems! events.teams.microsoft.com/event/08a49b...

Had a Thanksgiving chat with one of my Physics grad advisors about #QuantumComputing. He challenged the hype, arguing QC should focus more on realistic applications over speculation. Point taken.

"Quantum algorithm design is an extraordinarily difficult task and could rightly be regarded as a grand challenge in science. All currently known quantum applications rely on a small set of algorithmic primitives, which has not been significantly expanded for many decades." arxiv.org/abs/2411.09131

Quantum Computing's path to scalability challenges: noisy hardware, error correction, and efficient algorithms. AI may be stepping in to help hardware design, automating control, and decoding errors faster, even fault-tolerant QC may rest on this synergy, good quick read arxiv.org/abs/2411.09131
