[reflects fondly on when you could swap the game disc out of the PlayStation while the game was still loaded so that you could play your own CD single of Sarah McLachlan's "Adia" while beating the shit out of someone in Mortal Kombat 3]

Heh, it didn't last very long, depending on what game you rolled with. If the PS1 had to load the next bit of gaming action? Super happy wacky music fun time was over & you had to put in the game disc.
But for that chunk of action where you could throw in your own tunes, however briefly? Radtastic!
Definitely that, aye! (I dropped some Weezer in from time to time, too. You HAVE to grin when the "fight over" music was the first few notes of "Only in Dreams.")
Just out of curiosity, what would *your* choice of MK music be?
A whole bunch of stuff, mostly some Biggie/Tupac, The Prodigy, Metallica/Guns&Roses, and maybe even some 90s slow jams but mostly obscure 90's Trance/Techno😁 (I can't belive I was into Trance back in the day😅)

But now we're dipping into "Wipeout" territory😄
AND I WAS JUST GONNA SAY, that techno soundtrack for Wipeout XL was ERRYTHING, especially with that work from The Prodigy and Fluke!
Never say never, right?
