Genuine question as I edit: #Pathfinder2e regular readers, have you noticed that actions are capitalized and passive abilities are not? I correct these meticulously and sometimes wonder if anyone even notices the difference π

I absolutely do. (and try to adhere to those standards myself in posts online, both for clarity's and consistency's sake and because I'm a huge game design nerd). Those little cues are a tremendous aid in parsing the text.
Yep, I definitely appreciate the consistency because clear identification of subordinate actions feels pretty important especially as you gain levels and have more abilities that affect specific actions.
The design intention behind things like this is really useful to understand. I'm sure I'm being inconsistent and am going to have to go back to fix it all. ._.
I think they should tighten the design even more, and definitely should have at least a two page spread detailing some of the intention behind the design.
This would make it easier for GMs to produce indie content, which Paizo gets a cut of. A win-win.
Genuinely delighted so many of you have picked up on this! We put so much thought into these kinds of decisions, so to know they help people play the game is fantastic. I think in the future we have room to better make style choices clear to the reader, too.
I never noticed so many of these style choices until I started converting 1e stuff to 2e, and I'm still figuring some of it out. I'm glad there's a method to the madness. π
As someone doing 3pp trying to stick to Paizo standard editing, the autocorrect on my phone auto-capitalizes 'Strike' now, so I can definitely say it's noticed.
This has been living rent free in my head since I read it, Iβve also notices a few other terms are capitalised like swim Speed and basic Fortitude saving throw.
Spells are italic lower case, while equipment is only in italics if itβs referring to itself (or a directly related item?)
When referencing degrees of success, what determines if it is a list or a sentence? Is the sentence structure used when there are only two results, and 3 or more becomes a list?
Why do some spells use a list of two results? (such as needle darts and medusa's wrath)
I was going to ask how item activations are formatted, but only looking at the remaster content I can see this has been drastically improved. Has the "envision" activation finally been axed in the remaster?
I noticed but I play PFS. I'm also used to italics for spells (I'm old school) so it's kinda interesting to see the differences - for example, Thaumaturge has a lot of actions I use regularly so I notice (ex., Exploit Vulnerability).
I mostly noticed in Thaum case because "exploit vulnerability" also makes sense non-capitalized (like in a sentence). It's a small distinction, but it's been a long time since I looked at PF with the editing goggles on (Emerald Spire for 1e and that was before I played as regularly)
never noticed this but I generally dont notice that sort of thing in general even in my own writing when I sometimes forget when something is a proper noun or not :<
I notice and appreciate it, it makes skimming a page or stat block easier in the middle of combat because I can mentally skip over passive abilities if Iβm looking for an action, or vice versa

I even tell my players: "if it's capitolized, it's an Action." That's a good sign you can google it for more info lol

It made things a lot easier to teach for my new players, and it makes it easier for me to parse new texts.
Melee [one-action] pseudopod +15, Damage 1d8+6 bludgeoning plus 1d6 acid and tomb curse (Not capitalized because tomb curse applies automatically)
Melee [one-action] tail +13 (magical, reach 15 feet), Damage 2d12+5 bludgeoning plus Grab (capitalized because Grab requires you spend an action)
Wow! Thanks for pointing it out to me! That's yet another easier shorthand for me to use as a GM!
PROPER FORMATTING AND EDITING goggles?
Well, you've edited me. You know I can be a heavy lift.
