What I'm gathering from.all these blue sky posts is that the entire point of the protests was for neo-liberals to show how great they are at making signs.
Did the protest do anything to, you know, fight fascism? Or was it purely about making people feel good about themselves?
Maybe, maybe not. I know the feeling that the people in power allow (some) protests because it lets off steam that might otherwise be used to fuel real challenges. And if all people do us march with a cool sign and then think they've struck a blow for democracy, the people in power will be right.
The protests are still useful. When you can get *millions* of people in the streets, that's notable. But the point is not to convince Trump to change course; it's to show us we are not alone and not crazy, and lead to connections that fuel other kinds of resistance.
@msnbc.com @foxnews.com.web.brid.gy @cnn.com @theguardian.com @axios.com @washingtonpost.com @nytimes.com @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social are you all going to actually do journalism or are modern outlets like @underthedesknews.bsky.social and @meidastouch.com going to have to do the job you aren’t?!
For extensive coverage of the protest or just plain truthful news reporting, check out MTN Meidas Touch Network. Its all the stuff Corporate media doesn't want you to see.

Was 1939 Germany when the president banned smoking in the military and restaurants and turned a failing economy into a thriving economy and the crime rate dropped dramatically? Or was that another year of Germany?
