went into one in sf (I was desperate). zero seating. just a massive empty room. i was the only person in there. plenty of nearby shops with people in them. can’t wrap my head around how they were still in business in this high traffic area which i imagine costs a fortune to rent

Every one of my local Starbucks removed the seating areas in the last 6 months. Even though I never used them, it feels like a less welcome place now. Very "buy your coffee and get the f out."
