if only it was just piss they were taking... the forgone revenue means lost hospitals, schools, public housing, defence assets, social programs, MRI machines, dental on Medicare funding, savings account for future generations, etc... so much more than just 'the piss'...

In hindsight,

Australia could have spent ~$150 billion on three LNG processing facilities and we would now have 100% of gas revenue.

We didn't
We built/bought overpriced military equipment.

Companies who found the funding, took the risk and built the plants 'own' the output.
