My partner is Lakota the daughter of a boarding school survivor, I consider myself an ally to my native family β€οΈ #MMIW pls keep May 5th in your calendar.
The powers that be want us to live by black & white ( color vs color) we cannot unite if were taught to always hate. I agree attentions paid are very bias but playing their game & pointing it out will only trigger others & continue the game we as a people are losing.
Part of the deplorables. All missing children are important! Take a stand and bring this shame to the cameras of the media. It had to be done to get black missing children at all media outlets. Letβs bring out Native Americans front and center now to get media and law enforcement off their butts
I hate when anyone goes missing. But this is definitely true.
I've heard about the indigenous women missing all over North America, and the statistics are disturbing. Especially for a group that makes up ~2% of the total population.
It would be great to see more good done for the native people.
This is now highlighted by #NYPD and #FBI going ALL OUT to find a Rich CEOs shooter. They will never do this for a ordinary citizen. If POC or Native Americans or a woman =Crickets
noun

"a concern for justice, peace, and genuine respect for people"
2.judge or magistrate, in particular a judge of the Supreme Court of a country or state.
I got you bro
That is true. People don't care for us native indigenous people. They think they own everything and the land. And they think we're a waste of space for their white supremacy greedy self
If you donβt mind, here is an interview I covered in late summer with a MMIW organization. Hope it helps with understanding the mission. @nativemom4.bsky.social interview

The government doesnβt even keep statistics on these missing women. Think about that. Not even βa numberβ - they mean that little. National shame.
Good time to bring this to light again
More people might understand how it feels now that the UHC ex is getting so much attention and all the people that were denied insurance coverage can relate and get a better understanding
Hear, hear! I remember the wall to wall coverage of the awful disappearance of Natalee Holloway, the pretty, blond, white teenager from Alabama, while dozens of indigenous women and women of color want missing without so much as a column inch.
I wish theyβd stop using the 300k-plus missing immigrant children as political pawns!π‘ Theyβre obviously being protected by the Biden Administration to prevent deportations in 2025!ππ» They need to be reunited with their loving families!π

Because it's not happening to like, REAL people, right?
I'm not sure that's the intent though.
