For everyone requesting the "save my timeline scroll position across app restarts": I worked on this over the holidays and had it almost done when i hit a wall. The API will only let me query the user's timeline ~5000 posts into the past.

I think 5000 is more than enough. I only go back 2000 at most. Very few people want to scroll through that many posts.

This made me sign up for a subscription! The settings say there is some iCloud syncing too - that doesn’t seem to work between iPhone and Mac - is that supposed to work?

Thanks for the persistent last skeet position! This make being a timeline completionist easy again, like in the good o' days of Twitter. An instant subscribe... Now, I am looking forward to timeline position sync via iCloud and loading all skeets automatically without clicking multiple times. 👍

Please let me know if the feature works as expected for you. Like I said in the thread above it won't work if you've had the app closed for a long time, although "long" depends on the number of people you follow and how often they post. For me it's ~24hrs. After that it falls back to simple refresh.

I’m not sure I’ll run in to this, but when the full refresh happens, is that automatic or manually triggered? If I can see what I last looked at, before triggering the refresh, that’ll make it easier to scroll back since I’ll know I left off at the cat picture from 28 hours ago.

Right now the refresh happens automatically because I'm not saving the posts themselves but rather a pointer to them. When I re-open the app I try to load the old posts with the pointer. But saving all the posts could also be an option to create the feature you desribe.

Thanks for working on this. Couldn't test it yet but this sounds great. One thing to consider may be an option to go to the earliest available post instead of the latest when the reading position can't be fetched anymore. This is how the good twitter apps did it in the past if I'm not mistaken.

This is a nice feature. Related feature request: Could we get a way to load all new skeets above this one without having to hit the "Load more..." button multiple times? I always want to read everything, so I sometimes end up hitting it 5-6 times. Maybe a press and hold to get a "Load all" option?
