Misses the point badly. There's no possibility of untainted elections in 2026, & even that's irrelevant. The problem is now. Careerism in the face of unvarnished fascism is despicable. If career is more important than country at this low ebb, she'll sell country & party out later, too.
Not missing any point. I agree with some of what you say, but we need as many neutral or better members of Congress as possible. Pushing for the mere sake of it ends up dissipating our resources. I still have not read anything persuasive about how this proposed reactionary effort helps our cause.
1) PS. The notion civility matters is monstrous in the face of Musk's dismantling of the US government, in the face of Trump's EOs, in the stunning move by Iowa to strip away the laws protections for a minority group.
1) No, we don't. That's an absurdity. You're basing your strategy on the possibility of untainted elections in 2026. That's a strategic fallacy. Do any of the GOP, including Trump, act as if they're electorally accountable? Do you remember all

The sole thing that matters now is overt, visual, united political opposition. Republican legislative efforts should be delayed, rules-stymied, tortuously impeded at every opportunity. The House is more difficult because of its
I am not advocating for moderation, whatever that means; that is your interpretation. I do think that nobody knows what is on the other side of indifference to our institutions and norms, some of which I value, some of which I don't.
1) I never suggested you did. Your point was we need "moderates" to run in some districts. I'm saying basing your strategy on having contestable elections in 2026 is probably a fantasy.
We need a visible opposition party, one that people will be
He said from his recliner.
PROTEST! Stop making up reasons not to, or you won't be picking the hill you want to die on. You want to wait for fair weather and a nicer national mood?
Of course I protest. That's not the topic at hand. Interesting to me that you wrote "he said from his recliner." What leads you to write that? If you are interested in organizing and gathering support I would suggest not insulting folks whose ideas do not perfectly coincide with yours.

That's also leaving aside the monstrous voter suppression that will happen, assisted by friendly SCOTUS decisions,
